State Bank of India called for Probationary Officers - 3500 direct recruitment - all over India for appointment in it's branches. Because SBI is planned to expand it's branch network in India and abroad. SBI wants to improve the market share in the industry. New private sector banks are emering and foreign are freely allowed to open branches in India after March 2009. To meet the competition and infuse young blood to SBI the management decided to recruit young people.
The Bank already conducted a written examination for clerical staff for recuritment. More than 20000 clerical staff will be selected based on the written examination and interview from more that 24,00,000 candidates. This is one of the greatest achievement in the Indian recruitment process. Within a month period all the 24,00,00 applications are processed and completed in time.
